Rock & Roll Hall of Fame - Cleveland, OH - June 18

Rock & Roll Hall of Fame June 18

CLEVELAND ROCKS!!!!

We learned when we checked in yesterday that there would be no hot water after 8:00 today, so up earlier than planned to get a hot shower. The gas company needed to work on it, and it needed to be turned off for about 6 hours.
The Rock & Roll Hall of Fame didn’t open until 10:00 so we left around 9:30 to make the short drive from here.
We had the first sunny day in a long time. Still cool by my standards……
I got some shots of the Cleveland skyline on our way to the Rock & Roll Hall of Fame.

We had a great day at the museum. There are 6 levels and a bit rambling in layout, but there were quite a few boards explaining the timeline of Rock & Roll as you went from exhibit to exhibit. We didn’t take a lot of photos, but there is a lot to see there. I dare you to go and not sing or dance to all the music going on around you as you move from exhibit to exhibit.

There were 3 different short movies to watch as well. I enjoyed the Dick Clark’s American Bandstand presentation the most. I watched a lot of it growing up. Their presentation showed brief clips of just tons of performers in all genres that appeared on the show. One was a 20-minute presentation of Queen’s induction into the Hall of Fame. The main movie showed many performers induction moments. They did a long tribute to Prince performing at his.
We spent the most time on Level Zero since that is where the largest collection of items as they go from the early birth of rock and roll to current. We stopped and had lunch at their cafĂ© and had a decent muffaletta and a Greek chicken wrap. Then, we went back and finished Level Zero. They had pinball machines that you could play. (all with musician themes) We had fun doing that.
Then, we went to level 3 where there was a wall of the inductees and watched the Power of Rock Experience.
Level 4 is where you can share your story of what rock means to you.
Then up to level 5 & 6 to see how TV and radio featured music of the day.
We went back and caught the Queen presentation since it didn’t start until 3:00 due to a private function held there earlier.
I got my token magnet and we headed home.

  2. Thanks! I can now add photos again. I go back to the old site and try to add a few photos at a time, so will keep doing that as I have time and it allows me to add them. But, glad I started a new one for going forward.
