Reptiles, Amphibians & Crustaceans

While birding we do hike a fair amount. We have encountered many very interesting snakes. While not afraid of snakes, they do get our respect, especially if we don't know what kind it is. One snake (that we later found out was harmless) the Eastern Hog-nosed snake, definitely got our attention. It rears up and expands like a cobra. They also roll over and play dead. They also will attempt to tie itself in knots and poop. They are known as the best actor of snakes. They get our vote for best actor. Anyway, enjoy our collection of lizards & frogs large and small and a few crustaceans thrown in as well.

When traveling it's the people we find very interesting. Just leading their normal lives which often isn't something we see every day. Most are "just people", but a few are from performances in their native dress. I may need to split that into two posts.
