Crown Princess B2B Caribbean Cruise - Grand Cayman - 2011

This was our third time visiting Grand Cayman and we pretty much have always snorkeled here. This time our plan was to grab a local bus to Cemetery Beach, a place where we have not previously snorkeled.

Cemetery Beach is about 15 minutes from the pier on Seven Mile Beach. We got dropped off pretty much in the middle of a neighborhood and then walked down a sandy path beside a cemetery. The beach is on the backside of the cemetery and pretty much deserted. It has a small marine park right off the beach. There are no facilities there and the reef is about 50 to 200 yards off shore and there is a buoy marking the area.

When we were finished snorkeling there we grabbed a bus back to Eden Rock which is walking distance from the ship. We have snorkeled there every time we have visited. Eden Rock Diving Center has lockers you can use and a restaurant is right there that is good. We stashed our gear and had some lunch before

The best snorkeling is always out over the larger Eden Rock reef which is about 100 yards from shore and marked by some red buoys. The guy at Eden Rock Dive center pointed out where to go in relation to the buoys. Both Eden Rock and Devil’s Grotto are honey combed with caves, tunnels and grottos inhabited by many tropical fish, coral and sponges.

After we spent quite a bit of time snorkeling there we walked back to the ship (about 2 blocks).
