This was our second visit to Roatan and we did an island tour, ziplining and snorkeling on our first visit. This time we visited Gumbalimba Park and snorkeled at West End beach aka Tabyana. I believe they named the section of beach that is private for cruise ship passengers Tabyana but the whole end is called West End Beach.
Fair warning I have included way too many Capuchin monkey pictures.
Friends that we met on another cruise told us their favorite place to snorkel and its the back side of where most people go. This is what she told me and it worked for us. When you snorkel, there is a cut through in the reef that you can go out through and if you snorkel all along the back side it's amazing. You can also go out a little further across the sandy section and see the next reef that is a little deeper. The first reef you cut through to go out can run from about 25 feet or so all the way to the surface (be careful if you try to cut back to shore through there, sometimes you get to a dead end and get stuck and like I said it gets very shallow in some places.)
