July 14
Greg grabbed chocolate croissants and brought them back to
the room. We got packed up and walked our bags across the street to the train
station. We were to have a 5-hour train ride to Montreal, and we boarded about
10:30.
We had business class on VIA Rail's Corridor Train, so we made use of the comfy lounge
until boarding time. Business class had more roomy and comfortable seats which were
worth it.
I instantly got sick on the train. Sinus meds is my guess. I
dry hurled and ate some pretzels when they came around with them. When lunch
was passed out, the smell instantly made me want to hurl again. I ate the roll
and skipped the meal. Seats were facing so we were riding backwards. We enjoyed
the scenery as we passed through open farmlands and along the shores of Lake
Ontario. I finally started to feel better and was glad I saved the cookie from lunch.
We have 2 nights in Montreal at Hotel
Bonaparte in the historic district. Built in 1886, this hotel is a historic gem
in the center of Old Montreal. It put us within walking distance of the harbor front and the many restaurants and sights.
