Sea Days – Apr 3 & 4
April 3
Well, we did decide to just stay on the ship instead of
going into Ravenna. Had lunch at the buffet and it was a zoo up there. Checking
the weather in Slovenia where we should be today and everything is pretty nice
there. A guide even answered someone who posted on FB that it was sunny and
beautiful there with no wind. The guide also said the Captain must have had
another reason for canceling the port. Hmmmm. Perhaps, the storm hasn’t gotten
there yet and the Captain felt we couldn’t stay docked in the winds. (though
they were worse here this morning than they are there now?) Ah well, nothing we
can do about it.
Dinner in the dining room and it was just us. Another
lukewarm meal….
The entertainment tonight was the same Neil Diamond tribute
guy that we saw earlier in the cruise. He is very good, and I think this was a
better performance of the same show. It’s a shame that Cruise Director Andy
thinks the cruise started when he got on. He shouldn’t introduce the act like
he has found us the best entertainment, but he is bringing him back by popular
demand or something like that.
We then went to watch the Little White Lies game show.
April 4
Well, another day at sea instead of visiting Split, Croatia.
Viking Sky is docked there today. Not sure what our Captain’s issue is. When
the tour guides on shore don’t see any issue with their weather and we can see
the radar ourselves, not sure where he is getting his information and what he
is basing it on. Same with the missed ports in New Zealand, other ships called
on the ports during the same timeframe. It’s his ship and his rules and of
course we do wish to be safe.
Fingers crossed that we go to Kotor tomorrow, he has gone
past it and needs to turn back at some point….
Lunch at the buffet which was pretty good.
Dinner in the dining room catching up with Roy & Rondi.
The entertainment tonight was Robin Hill a classical guitarist. Very nice performance.
Early to bed to visit Kotor, Montenegro tomorrow!
