Baltra to Quito, Ecuador - 2011

We were up early for our last breakfast of the cruise. All luggage was picked up the night before and we didn’t see it again until we checked back into the JW Marriott and it was in our room. For the panga ride to the dock and on to the bus to the airport you just had one carryon like a backpack.

They served lunch on the plane. We had time to check into the hotel and rest a bit before we boarded buses for the shopping tour in the afternoon. The first stop was at a local market that was quite interesting and colorful. Everyone could wander on their own and just met back at the bus at the designated time. Then it was on to a high end gallery that was open just for us. Lovely stuff there and Greg picked up a nice mother’s day gift for his mom. Then, we had a short time to shower and get ready for the last dinner together as a group. It was at the Argentinean Steakhouse at the JW Marriott and was one of the best steaks I have ever tasted. The whole meal was very good!

Tomorrow, I had set up a Mindo Cloud Forest tour with Alex Lomax and we look forward to that before flying to Peru the day after that.
