Cusco to Sacred Valley
This morning our driver picked us up to take us to the airport for our flight to Cusco. It's a short 1 hour flight with amazing views of the Andes. (lots of snow on them) We arrived in Cusco and were met by Rosa and her driver.
We drove through Cusco to be taken to the area known as The Sacred Valley of the Incas. It seemed there was beautiful breathtaking scenery everywhere you looked. We were taken to a town called Ollantaytambo and stayed at Hotel Pakaritampu with stunning flowering gardens. We stayed there for 2 nights. There was some road construction and we couldn’t be driven all the way to the hotel, so they got us a Moto Taxi. Way cool! We checked in and grabbed a nice lunch at the hotel. Breakfast was included each morning as well. After lunch we explored the sprawling hotel and the beautiful grounds.
Then we wandered into town to check it out. There were lots of restaurants and shops with the locals selling their wares. We wandered aimlessly through lots of narrow alleyways.
We found a nice place for dinner and had some adobe oven cooked pizzas.
Hit the spot. The resident dog adopted
me and of course I had to feed him. After dinner we walked back to the hotel instead of taking a Moto Taxi.
