Hamilton, New Jersey to Swedesboro, NJ - September 11
We had a very short drive today for our last touring base. Less than 2 hours, so we left after lunch and drove more surface streets through small towns for the scenery.
Greg has done such a great job of plotting out our stops and our touring days. We agreed that a “hub & spoke” system would work best where we stay longer in one hotel and drive in different directions to visit different areas vs switching hotels more often. Sometimes, we have had to move more often or drive further than we would have liked for a day of touring, but it has all worked out well. Speeding up the last 4 weeks of travel down to 2 has us on the move more, but we are making it work. Normally, on cruises I do all the tour planning, so this has been a treat for me not to do that much planning.
We got checked into the TownePlace hotel which is a bit of a weird one. They don’t provide ice buckets. They hand you a plastic bag. The closet has 2 doors, one in the kitchen and one in the bathroom. Too funny. All of the hotels have had their quirks for sure. They are all Marriott properties, but even the same brand within the brand have been different.
We are here for 4 nights. Tomorrow, we are touring Valley Forge, PA. (about an hour from here)
