Rocky Hill, CT to Hamilton, NJ - September 9

Rocky Hill, CT to Hamilton, NJ - September 9

We had a fairly short drive today. We stopped for lunch after an hour or so on the road. We had to pass through New York to get to New Jersey. No welcome sign due to road construction, but I did get this sign on the bridge.

We passed through a small section of the Bronx. We stopped at a rest stop to have a snack. I haven’t been feeling well for 2 days now and I needed a pick-me-up. Cinnabon! I know, you though I was going to say ice cream, didn’t you?

We got checked into the Residence Inn and we had some upgrade coupons, so we got a 2 bedroom. Don’t really need the extra room, but it’s a place to put our luggage.

You may be aware of this little oddity in New Jersey, but it is interesting to note that you turn right when they want to turn left or make a U turn. There are no left turns at the intersection, and these types of turns are callled jughandles. You'll know a jughandle is coming up when you see an "All turns from right lane" or "U and left turns" sign.

It is also illegal to pump your own gas. Safety or Unions? Hmmmmm…….

We are only here for 2 nights. Tomorrow, we are visiting Grounds for Sculpture and Asbury Park Boardwalk.

We will be back in Port St. Lucie in one week from today. We are excited to get back and see the house. We have window covering people coming on the 19th.
