Newport Cliff Walk & Rhode Island State House – Providence, RI - September 4
The day started out cool and foggy for the Cliff Walk, but ended up sunny and warm. The Cliff Walk was very beautiful with the sounds of crashing waves and beautiful ocean views on one side and gorgeous stately homes on the other. The entire walk if done round trip is 7 miles. We only had time for about 5 miles. The very last section is boulder climbing anyway so we didn’t want to do that anyway. There was 1 short section of walking over flat boulders and they were no problem. The rest of the path is paved. We walked to the Japanese Tea Garden and turned around.

It was lunch time and we headed to Easton's Beach Snack Bar where we both got their Twin Lobster Rolls & fries. Very good and inexpensive. We had a great view of the ocean from their patio.

From there we drove to Providence to visit their State House. We weren’t sure if we could make the 2:00 tour, but despite being a few minutes late they hadn’t started yet. Probably since we were the first to arrive. She started the tour with just us and at one point 1 other guy and another couple joined the tour. It really was a beautiful Capitol building with lots of marble inside and out. She was an interesting guide and she brought the stories of the building alive. Both the House & the Senate were closed for refurbishing, so we only got photos of the photo of what they looked like.

We grabbed ice cream at the nearby Mall and came back to the hotel for dinner and to get packed to move to the next hotel.
