Sea Day – Feb 5
I wasn’t feeling well so I skipped breakfast. We went up to
the Lido for lunch and I ate light. Soon, I was feeling better, and we went to
dinner in the dining room. The show tonight was another performance by Aiden
Soon, the harmonica player. Just an awesome show! After that it was standing
room only for a cabaret show by our Assistant Cruise Director Mark Cornish.
Just an awesome voice. He is funny, but his singing is serious. He has really
good range and great song choices. The crowd went wild. (and not pity claps
& standing ovation) He truly was enjoyed by everyone in the room. I
honestly think he could perform on Broadway.
2 more sea days until NZ.
Sea Day – Feb 6
Our usual morning routine and we went to the dining room for
lunch where we grabbed a table for 2. It seems we get great service everywhere but
our set dining table. Today we Crossed the International Dateline so while you
were all enjoying your Feb 7, we totally skipped that day and set our clocks to
Feb 8. (That’s why we get all of those added hours on various days to keep up
with the tike zone we are in around the world)
We went to the dining room for dinner, and it was just the 4
of us which is always nice. The show was another performance by Donna Campbell.
She did a great Dolly Parton tribute last time, but this time she performed as
herself. Sadly, many people walked out. (if we weren’t stuck in the middle and
didn’t want to crawl over a lot of people we may have left too)
We went to the Rock the Room game. They divide the room in
half and people run down when they know an answer and are awarded points or
not. Some are points just for cheering. It’s all in good fun as there are no
prizes. Our side won!
1 more sea day until NZ
Sea Day - Feb 8
Our usual morning routine and then we went to lunch in the
dining room. Again, really good service. Don’t know why we have the one really “bad”
waiter. I finally finished the Pago Pago blog today. Doing the photos this trip
has been painful. I may need to really slow down on doing the blog, as it is
consuming way too much time. (plus, the ports are picking up, so I’ll be way behind
anyway)
We went to dinner in the dining room. We ordered and then a
while later one couple joined the table. The same couple from the lunch the
other day and they were interesting to talk with. Then, a single lady joined.
So, an interesting dinner tonight.
The show tonight was a production show called Stardust. We
have seen it many times and since I was raised by my grandmother, I relate to
many of the old songs. She especially like the Mills Brothers singing Glow
Worm.
After that we went to the game show called Everybody Knows
Something. Again, it was a game where the room was divided. Our side won again!
Well, early to bed for our early morning in Bay of Islands
tomorrow! We have 3 ports in a row, then 1 day off and 3 more ports in NZ. So, I won't be posting for a while.
