Shenandoah NP – July 10

Shenandoah NP – July 10

We left around 11:00 and started towards the north end of Skyline Drive and drove straight to lunch at the same place where we had the good BLTs and Onion Rings. They weren’t that good this time around. (different workers today) We then drove along looking for wildlife.
We saw a couple of deer, but not much else. Later in the day we saw a very young buck.

We stopped to do a moderate hike at Bearfence. It was only a bit over a mile, but kinda steep and rocky. We did see a few birds.
Still no bear sightings. One couple said they saw two bears a short while ago along the road.

We then proceeded south out of the park to go back to the hotel. We only saw a squirrel. Ha! We stopped for a snack and got some fudge. It was weird. Tasted more like caramel and was quite gooey and sticky. (Jim, I’m sure Jennifer makes way better fudge)

We had dinner at the hotel and we leave tomorrow for Knoxville, TN
