Sea Day - Jan 22
Someone requested to know what a typical Princess Patter
looked like. I will list a few of the things that are available for anyone who
wants to participate. (also on the Medallion App)
Last segment a passenger led a Tai Chi class (too early for
me)
There is always a bible study and interdenominational
services on Sunday.
Zumba
Arts & crafts doing different things on different days.
Since we are headed to Hawaii, there is a silk flower lei making class. It
could be making cards, watercolors or various items that change.
A destination expert does talks on the next port and also is
available to answer questions later on in the day.
Of course, the shops do drawings and giveaways.
There is some sort of trivia twice a day and in the evening
they do more “games” or less intense trivia
There are poker tournaments.
Bridge Lessons.
They have dedicated one dining room in the mornings/early
afternoons to playing cards and games.
In the atrium they often have games like ring toss, bowling or bean
bag throwing. (cornhole)
There is line dancing and other dance classes.
There are 2 sessions of bingo on sea days. (morning and
afternoon)
The shops and the spa offer talks to entice you to buy
things or services.
There is a pop choir under the direction of David Crathorne.
They practice on sea days and will perform at the end of segments.
For lunch you have quite a few choices. One main dining room
is open for sit-down service. The Lido Buffet is always open. There is an
outdoor Grill for burgers, dogs, street tacos, pulled pork, grilled fish or
chicken etc. Occasionally on sea days Sabatini’s has Alfredo’s Pizzeria and
other days the Bayou Café has an English Pub that features 2 different menus. There
is also a pizza station by the Grill.
Afternoons are much the same as mornings and chockful of
activities.
There is Movies Under the Stars with movies or sports
poolside.
There is a tennis court and a pickleball court and
shuffleboard.
There is an outdoor pool and an indoor pool plus a splash
pool on an upper deck.
There is afternoon tea and an ice cream shop poolside.
More crafts, dancing classes and on and on……
There are plenty of different types of music about the ship
as well. Oftentimes there is a band poolside. In the evenings there is music in
the Explorer’s Lounge, Crooners Bar, the Wheelhouse Bar and a small area in the
Bayou Café. Sometimes, there is music in the atrium.
There are numerous bars and lounges about the ship.
There is an internet café and a small library.
There is a coffee bar with quite a bit of seating.
Anyway, on a cruise you can do as little or as much as you
want. We really don’t do much on sea days. We sometimes play bingo, but this
cruise due to Fortuna Luck being annoying and the use of electronic bingo cards
it just isn’t as fun. Even if you buy just paper, the machines have so many
games on them that it really is stacked in their favor. It’s just not fun to
know 4 numbers in that 6 people in the room are already 1 number away. Below is a different patter. (will need to zoom in)
There are tons of movies and TV shows to watch on demand as well.
We had an interesting group of people at lunch today. One
guy gave us trivia questions to pick our brains. Always interesting to meet new
people. Service continues to be problematic, and no one ever came around for
drink orders.
On the way out from lunch we saw Bob & Phyllis and Tom
& Cathy having lunch and we stopped to chat. First time we have seen Bob &
Phyllis since they boarded in LA. We met them on the 2017 and 2019 World
Cruises) We’ll soon be doing lots of tours together. We went up to the Lido for
dessert since nothing appealed to us in the dining room and Heather found us.
First time we had seen her since she and Matt boarded in LA. We met them on the
2018 60-day South America cruise.
This afternoon we watched the movie Nightmare Alley. Kind of
slow……
Tonight, was a formal night, and after dinner went to the game show called Rock the Room. We stayed for part of it before leaving for the evening production show Encore even though we just saw it. It is a great show and I imagine the operatic soprano will leave the ship in Honolulu. (Hencethe same show twice in a row as it was new for those that got on in LA.
Dinner was very slow again......
Tomorrow, we have our last sea day before Honolulu.
