Sea Day - Jan 23

Sea Day - Jan 23

We had a relaxing morning before going to the Pub Lunch. (love those fish & chips!) The line was long when we got there, and Tom & Cathy were towards the front. Tom came back and asked if we would like to join them. We haven’t seen much of them yet (one tour so far and passing briefly about the ship) so it was great to sit with them for lunch and catch up a bit.

We left there to check out the Deal or No Deal game show that was happening a bit later.

We grabbed dessert at the Lido and then went back down and bought our tickets to play the game. It was held in the main show lounge and only one person was called up to be on stage to pick the suitcases and play for the money. (just like on the TV game show of the same name) They played two games so they called a second person up to play for the money.

There is a guy named Tim on the ship and you may remember that one day at bingo he won every game played. Low and behold his number was called to be the first one up on stage to play Deal or No Deal. I don’t think there has been a bingo session where he didn’t win at least once. At the lotto draw at the end of the last segment the first 5 cards pulled out to spin the wheel for a prize were his. They only let him spin once and drew until someone else got a chance to spin as well.  So, only 2 people have a chance to win the $1,000 and then based on suitcase numbers picked win an amount based on that.

The rest of us won various prizes based on the number of matches we had on our cards in comparison to the suitcases on the card on stage. Greg had 3 matches and won free bingo cards and I had 2 matches and won a scratch off ticket. The bingo cards were good for that afternoon’s session, so we went and played. We didn’t win on the purchased cards or the free ones. The scratch offs did not win either. It was fun to play and we’d do it again if they offer it again.

Roy and Rondi were able to join us for dinner. Roy is doing OK, but Rondi has been ill with a lung infection. Medical has been taking good care of her. It was great to catch up with them.

Lou Gazzara performed his second show for the evening entertainment. We both thought the show wasn’t as “good”. Probably just song choices for us. (too Las Vegas “lounge lizard for us) His last show was really good.

Since we caught the late show, we only had time to sit through half of the game show which was “How Men and Women Think”. Same questions as last segment, but so far, we never get to stay for the answers. (maybe next segment)

Tomorrow, we visit Honolulu.
